Vision to Learn Program
One of the many factors that lead to student success is the ability to see clearly. Our school nurse, Melissa Owens, is helping to make that possible for over 100 of our students by bringing the Vision to Learn Program to Dole Middle School starting this month. Students who did not pass last semester’s vision screening or who already have eyeglass prescriptions were given permission forms to be part of this program. Once students turn in their signed permission forms (due Friday, January 25), they will be called to the Vision to Learn van that will come to campus on Wednesday and Thursday, January 30th and 31st. There, students will get a full vision exam, and get fitted for eyeglass lenses and frames. At a later date, these students will be part of a celebration ceremony where they will get their free eyeglasses.
