Hawaii Comedy Fest - Spring Break Camp for Youth

Farrington High School's musical theatre program FPAC is working together with the Hawaii Comedy Fest to put together the very first Junior Festival this upcoming spring break.
For this inaugural festival, they have decided to have Kalihi students participate in this free camp! It will be open to any student from Farrington, Dole, or Kalakaua, a great opportunity for our students!
There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, January 8th, 2020 at 3:30 in the Farrington Auditorium. Students still have some time to apply by January 27th! Only 12 students will be chosen for the free camp.
We are excited to announce that the first annual Hawaii Comedy Fest Junior is opening its doors to students in the Kalihi area.  This will be a 5-day Comedy Camp for Middle and High School Students in Kaka’ako (Entrepreneurs Sandbox) that will run during the public school spring break in March. The program is brought to us by Hawaii’s own Kimee J. Balmilero (Hawaii Five-O, Magnum PI) whose goal is to “Build confidence through comedy!”  Participants will learn: IMPROV COMEDY, SKETCH COMEDY, WRITING and ACTING by ImprovHI staff and special guests including Kimee.  For the inaugural festival, they will be sponsoring 12 selected students in the Kalihi area. Included will be free tuition, snacks and lunch (students to provide their own water container). The camp will run from Monday, March 16 - Saturday, March 21, 2020.  The schedule be from 11am-3pm Mon-Thurs, 11am-7pm on Friday and 4pm-7pm on Saturday with a showcase to be presented to the public on Friday and Saturday at 530pm.
In order for a student to be selected, they must submit a short 30 second or less video to govsfpac@farringtonhighschool.org stating their first name, grade level, and why they want to do comedy. All videos are due by January 27th with selected students to be chosen by February 3rd.
